About us
Who we are
We are a team of change-makers who believe in enhancing a satisfactory and dignified life for disadvantaged children and adolescents.
The Child and Adolescent Resource Centre (CARC) PVO 58/18 is a non-profit making organisation which was established in 2008 by Doctor Monica Glenshaw and Mrs. Mary Miller to provide psychosocial support to children living with HIV and their primary caregivers. The two founding members felt that although children were receiving anti-retroviral drugs, they needed comprehensive psychosocial support in order to cope with their HIV status and its implications. Over the years, CARC expanded its coverage to cater for the needs of Orphans and other Vulnerable Children (OVC). The Organisation also promotes Child Protection issues including a range of educational and self-help projects aimed at building the coping mechanisms of children, adolescents and caregivers in Zimbabwe.
